Websites

A site you own, that loads fast and costs almost nothing to run

A website should load quickly, be easy for you to update, and be yours to take anywhere. That is what we build. The code lives in a repository you own, the content lives in a CMS you can use without asking anyone, and the running costs stay small enough that you barely think about them.

Three to five weeks.

What it covers

  • Site structure and page copy, written not templated
  • Design in your brand, or a direction we agree if you do not have one yet
  • Hand-coded, or built on Astro with a Sanity CMS where you need to edit things yourself
  • Accessibility as standard: semantic markup, AA colour contrast, visible focus states, reduced motion support
  • Forms, events, booking and calendar integrations where the job needs them
  • Deployment on Netlify, with the code in a repository you own
  • A plain-English handover guide and a walkthrough session

How it works

  1. Scope

What the site has to do, who edits it, what it connects to, what it must not cost to run.

  2. Structure and copy

Pages, hierarchy and words first, because designing around finished copy is faster than the other way round.

  3. Design and build

Designed and built together, reviewed on a live staging link rather than in static mockups.

  4. Handover

You get the repository, the CMS, the guide and a walkthrough. Nothing is locked to us.

What you get at the end

A live site scoring in the nineties on Lighthouse across performance, accessibility, best practice and SEO. A CMS you can use. Running costs that stay small at small-business scale. Full ownership of the code.

Good fit if

You need a site that will last a few years, you want to make routine changes yourself, and you would rather not be tied to a platform's pricing.

Works better alongside

Large e-commerce catalogues, booking systems with complex availability rules and full web applications need a development team. We work with developers who build those, so we can bring them in or point you in the right direction.
