Cortex wanted to give back to the community in a way that meant something, not just a branding exercise. We proposed an event that would get girls aged 10-14 excited about technology while also generating positive press coverage and positioning Cortex as a company that invests in the next generation.
We owned every aspect of the event from concept to delivery. That meant designing the promotional flyers and event programme, sourcing and briefing speakers from the tech industry, planning the activities (including Bloxels game design and hands-on engineering challenges), managing the budget, coordinating with Girlguiding Guernsey on logistics and safeguarding, and handling all media outreach.
On the day, 35 girls attended and participated in a full programme of STEM activities. We documented the event with photography and video, then used the content for follow-up press coverage and social media.
The event was covered by the Guernsey Press: "Guides are the girls who innovate at future tech day"
